BIOGRAPHY
Hilary Baldwin was born in Boston and has lived in Massachusetts most of her life. She paints in the Boston School tradition; a blend of realism and impressionism, trying to impart a feeling about each piece, rather than describing it in detail. Most of her work is painted “en plein air” in Boston, the North Shore and in Southern France.
Hilary graduated from the Vesper George Art School in Copley Square, Boston. She worked as a freelance commercial artist for a number of years before deciding that fine art was where her heart was. She has studied plein air painting with North Shore artist David Curtis and has taken workshops with other well-known Boston artists, including Robert Douglas Hunter and Bill Ternes. Hilary is represented at Renjeau Gallery, Sidoti Gallery of Fine Art and Florentine Frames
Hilary is an artist member of the Copley Society of Art in Boston, awarded CA status, an artist member of the Concord Art Association, an artist member of the North Shore Art Association, an associate member of the Guild of Boston Artists, an artist member of the Rockport Art Association and the Bryan Memorial Gallery in Jeffersonville, Vt. Hilary also shows at Renjeau Gallery Sidoti Gallery of Fine Art, and has numerous works in private collections.
